Orthopaedic Technologist-P Orthopedics - Ortho Trauma
Summary of Position Description
This position assists the orthopedic physician in the care and treatment of patients with orthopedic needs within the practice.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Minimum 2 years experience in orthopedic casting and splinting
Current BLS
OTC certification from NBCOT upon hire, or will obtain it within one year of employment
High School diploma or GED
Ability to articulate descriptions of orthopedic conditions based upon knowledge of anatomical structures and their relationship with one another
Ability to apply and remove upper and lower extremity casts, body casts and splints.
Ability to work effectively under stress or emergency situations
Knowledge of safety, infection control and quality assurance policies and regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize with attention to detail
Ability to demonstrate compassion and desire to help patients
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
