Title Lead Design Engineer

Description Haley & Aldrich, Inc. is seeking Lead Design Engineer to lead remedial design and construction field engineering related to the cleanup of contaminated sites. The successful candidate shall be a self-motivated problem solver with high attention to detail and must be capable of working with minimal direction to solve problems and prepare technically accurate design documents as independently as possible, while adhering to project scopes and budgets. Will mentor and direct engineering support staff.
Requirements must have a Bachelor and/or Master degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or environmental engineering.
must have minimum 10 years experience including preparation of design plans and technical specifications for remediation of contaminated sites, including earthwork and site/civil aspects of remedial construction projects.
must have permitting experience for remedial alternatives selection, remedial design and remedial construction.
must have experience in selecting remedial technologies and implementing remedial designs including field engineering and construction inspection or oversight. Design/build or self-perform experience a plus.
excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PE Registration required.
CAD experience a plus.
project management experience on remedial design projects a plus.
experience with investigation and remediation of former manufactured gas plant sites a plus.
in-situ soil stabilization experience is a plus.
experience with coal combustion residuals management a plus.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
lead development of design documents by engineers and CAD personnel with oversight and guidance
manage existing design delivery workflow, develop and maintain performance metrics, and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement
promote and ensure a high level of product quality through frequent measurement and evaluation of design review, quality assurance, and quality control procedures; lead by example in this area
