Responsibilities:
We are seeking a project staff or senior gas engineer with Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree who can support and lead natural gas engineering projects, site/civil projects, and support field construction. Having gas or electric utility experience is a plus. The qualified individual will complement the existing natural gas team at Woodard & Curran's East Windsor, NJ office, and will perform field visits, site walk-throughs and meet with clients while providing gas-engineering services. These projects may include local gas distribution company work (LDC), gas transmission pipeline design, LNG, CNG/Natural Gas Vehicles, industrial work, and mechanical and civil piping projects.
Work will also include the selection, coordination, and management of subcontractors, cost estimating, writing procedures and specifications, and management of the scope, schedule, and budget for various project tasks. Report writing and interaction with project staff, clients and regulatory agencies will also play an important role in the candidate's success.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced gas engineers, mid-career and recent retirees with an engineering, operations, and/or construction background. PE license is a plus. The position has the flexibility for both part time and full time schedules, and is available in any of our Portland, ME; Dedham or Andover, MA; East Windsor, NJ; and Pittsburgh, PA offices.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and ability to implement programs under the natural gas pipeline Federal, State, and Local requirements.
BS in mechanical or civil engineering, or related discipline; Master's degree is a plus.
5-15 years' experience in natural gas engineering and gas planning projects.
Recent retirees are encouraged to apply.
Professional Engineer Registration is a plus.
Membership in appropriate professional societies.
Excellent communication and computer skills.
Report writing skills are essential.
