Role Overview
AMEC Environment & Infrastructure has a career opportunity in our Portland, Maine office for a CADD technician specializing in Mechanical (HVAC), Electrical and Plumbing (MEP).
The Portland Office is a multi-disciplinary engineering and architecture office with 75 engineers, architects, surveyors, designers and support staff. AMEC offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects for a wide range of clients throughout the US from the relaxed environment of a small, vibrant city.
Projects include design and design-build of industrial, commercial, federal and institutional facilities and energy engineering.
Key responsibilities
Provide technical drafting and design engineering support for MEP drawing production utilizing Autocad and Revit applications.
Projects typically include coordination and teaming with in-house architects and engineers.
HVAC CAD and design experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Implementation of varying client CAD standards.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Strong computer skills.
Strong work ethic.
This position offers the opportunity to work with, learn from, and be mentored by senior engineering staff while executing responsibilities.
Preparation of design drawings, bidding documents, and construction documents.
Fundamental knowledge of the following disciplines will add value to this position:
Fire Protection.
Process Piping including P&ID;, Process Flow Diagrams, Piping isometrics, detailing.

Role Requirements
AA degree or vocational training and 5
years of experience.
Demonstrated advanced AutoCAD skills.
Must be fluent in the latest versions of AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
Experience in MicroStation is desired.
Demonstrated project setup skills and familiarity with standard industry practices.
Ability to work with and take direction from Architects, Engineers and Project Managers.
Must be familiar with National CAD standards and implement them on projects.
Drafting/CAD knowledge of other disciplines is a plus, i.e. Architecture, Civil, Structural.
