Description
VHBNew Hampshireis looking to expand its Transportation team inBedford officeand is seeking a Highway Design Engineer to work in our Bedford, NH office.This person will work within a team of professionals to support our roadway design and infrastructure projects.The successful candidate will have between 3 to 10 years of professional experience.
Responsibilities:
Work within a team of professionals to support our roadway design and infrastructure projects
Design transportation improvements for roadway and intersection design; analyze/evaluate traffic control; support traffic/safety studies; support land use planning and urban design studies;
Prepare preliminary and final design; plans and contract documents including engineers estimates
Skills and Abilities:
Strong civil engineering background
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated
Attention to detail
Ability to think critically
Strong computer skills ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Excel in working in a team environment
Qualifications:
3 to 10 years of civil engineering experience
BS in Civil Engineering
Strong CAD skills(Civil 3D, Microstation, InRoads, Corridor Modeler) required
Proficient in horizontal and vertical roadway layout and grading
Basic understanding of drainage design and stormwater management
Basic understanding of State and local permitting processes
Basic understanding of traffic and intersection design criteria
Experience working with NHDOT, VTransand local government preferred
