General Summary
This position reports to the SVP, Chief Actuary and supports the VP Corporate Actuary in various activities related to reinsurance and capital management. Focus areas include:
Reinsurance Program Management
Reinsurance Transactions
Capital Planning Interfacing
A successful candidate will create clear, accurate and insightful financial analysis; communicate the company's reinsurance agenda and specific transaction effectively among pees in the business units and among corporate staff departments. Project management expertise and strong interpersonal relationships with key resources are also critical in this position.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
Evaluate the value of multiple reinsurance programs, facilitating and influencing executive level discussions involving both strategic value and risk.
Elevate the department's reputation for making strategic risk and financial evaluations with fact-based, provocative, actionable and timely executions.
Identify and monitor Inherent risk mitigation of reinsurance transactions
Develops analysis and proposals to be considered by the company's capital management committee to improve capital efficiencies and manage risk of various products
Understands and communicates broadly the company's multiple financial reporting bases and planning processes as they relate to reinsurance transactions.
Measures the potential of market reinsurance opportunities for our business
Advances finance and actuarial leadership through the following:
Engages financial associates in reinsurance knowledge and reporting practices
Increases knowledge of tax reserves, capital and financial management practices with others
Grows and advances understanding of GAAP, STAT, and Tax financial elements, and related external developments and integrates knowledge with potential reinsurance transactions
Bachelors degree required
FSA certification and requisite experience
At least four years of relevant experience and/or a high level of technical expertise
Strong people and project management skills
Hands-on experience with current technology
Excellent problem solving ability
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Meets the standards for this position as defined in the Talent Management framework

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
