MaineHealth Cardiology is seeking a Heart Failure cardiologist to join our highly skilled team based at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. Candidates must be Board Certified in Cardiovascular Medicine and Board Certified/Eligible in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
Maine Medical Center (MMC) has a long history of providing state-of-the-art care for patients with advanced heart failure. Our multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, advanced practice providers (APP's), and nurses works collaboratively to support patients through all stages of heart failure. We use the latest equipment and surgical therapies including mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), temporary percutaneous ventricular assist devices to support both the right and left ventricles (PVAD), and durable implantable left ventricular assist devices (LVAD). The MMC Advanced heart failure program works closely with regional transplant centers and currently follows 80 active repatriated transplant patients. Our team performed 35 ECMO cannulations and the second highest volume of LVAD implants in New England last year. MMC was designated as a Gold Level Center of Excellence by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) in 2017. MMC was recertified by The Gold Seal of Approval from Joint Commission as an Advanced Certification Program for Ventricular Assist Device in 2023.
Long recognized as a leader in cardiac care, Maine Medical Center remains on the forefront of today's most advanced treatments and has been an active participant in clinical trials of major new heart failure therapies for the past decade. Maine Medical Center's Cardiovascular Service Line ranks as one of the top 100 programs in the United States. We are pleased to share that the hospital is in the process of building a five-story patient care tower dedicated to cardiovascular excellence. It will be home to 19 new procedure rooms, including several hybrid ORs, as well as 64 new private patient rooms. Construction is well underway and the building is scheduled to open in 2024.
MaineHealth Cardiology is a growing practice of over 70 cardiologists with practice locations in Augusta, Lewiston, Rockport, Scarborough, and Waterville. This fully integrated faculty practice works closely with Maine Medical Center and other regional hospitals to provide a coordinated network of care for the state of Maine and eastern New Hampshire.
Maine Medical Center has 700 licensed beds and is the state's leading tertiary hospital and Level One Trauma Center with a full complement of residencies and fellowships. The position involves a direct teaching role within our Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship as well as mentoring medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program (Tufts-Maine Track). The candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
