Quality Technician - Maine Medical Center

Summary Position Summary Responsible for developing, monitoring, and making recommendations to improve overall departmental quality.
Provides oversight and management of competency assessments for all department staff.
Under the direction of the department Manager/Supervisor and Laboratory Medical Director, coordinates implementation and standardization of best clinical laboratory practices, manages departmental projects and serves as a resource for technical initiatives and standardization within the department.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education:
Associates Degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred License/Certifications:
Certification as a technologist/technician by a recognized professional organization (e.
g.
, ASCP, BOR, NCA) is required.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years relevant laboratory experience required.
Project Management and process improvement experience preferred.
Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot independently and to apply critical thinking skills.
Professional and effective verbal and written communication Proficiency with Word and Excel software.
Experience working with laboratory information systems.
Ability to gather quality reports with understanding of the quality indicators being monitored.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
