We are looking for a Vice President of Business Development to work with senior management and our M&A team to oversee business development and deal origination for Chenmark.
The mix of activities and the amount of time spent on each will vary but will include:
Design, oversight, and management of sourcing platforms and processes CRM oversight and management Relationship management with small business owners, brokers, service providers, and other relevant contacts in the small business ecosystem Involvement in training and professional development focused on networking and business development Regular attendance at SMB industry events and conferences Regular travel to meet with small business owners around North America Other ad hoc special projects The role will offer considerable breadth and exposure to all aspects of Chenmark, but will focus on new deal origination and top-of-funnel business development activity.
Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record of business development success, a high level of professionalism, innate curiosity and interest in different industries and business models, excellent written and verbal communication skills, an ability to multitask, and a deep understanding of Chenmark's culture and investment philosophies.
Noted above, but worth reiterating, the role will feature significant travel periodically.
You will be representing Chenmark out in the world more than almost anyone at the company and will therefore need to deeply understand and live the Chenmark culture and values.
