Overnight NP/PA-SHH Med Staff
Summary Position Summary Under the direction of a physician or the Medical Director, the nurse practitioner provides primary medical care for hospitalized patients.
The nurse practitioner will provide face to face evaluations, medication management and health care to patients.
The position all includes developing and recording a plan for effective and timely treatment for patients.
The nurse practitioner will facilitate the admission of patients to the hospital providing orders and safety assessment of the patient.
The nurse practitioner will also provide behavioral and medical assessment of the patients in the hospital on an as needed basis.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education:
Master's degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training License/Certifications:
Current and valid license as a Nurse Practitioner by the Maine State Board of Nursing and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
Specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
Experience:
2
year of patient care in a community mental health center or hospital is preferred.
Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients Recommended Skills Certified Nurse Practitioner Community Mediation Credentialing Nursing Nursing Theories Medication Administration Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
