For nearly 100 years, Michael Klahr Jewish Family Services has offered assistance, comfort, and hope to those in need in Southern Maine.
Through programs designed to meet compelling and immediate needs, KJFS demonstrates the commitment to gemilut chasadim (acts of loving kindness) in the service of tikkun olam (repairing the world).
Over the past several years, KJFS has grown in many ways, and we seek a vibrant, committed, and visionary director to steward the program.
Our current mix of activities includes the only National Diaper Bank-affiliated Diaper pantry in Southern Maine, an Essentials Pantry, the annual Joe Bornstein Winter Warmth Drive that provides winter boots to local students, and a HIAS-affiliated refugee resettlement program serving an estimated 120 Refugees and Humanitarian Parolees in 2022-2023.

The successful applicant will possess wide ranging skill in human services and program management as well as experience with grant seeking and grant management.
Primary Responsibilities Oversee and run all aspects of existing diaper bank and essentials pantry program, from procurement through distribution; Manage relationships with key program stakeholders, organizational partners, elected officials, and grantmaking organizations; Write KJFS grants and manage all reporting requirements; Ensure all files, systems and policies operate in accordance with applicable standards and state and federal law; Develop and manage KJFS budget; In concert with the Volunteer Manager and Refugee Resettlement Manger, support regular KJFS outreach and trainings for Jewish community organizations Work closely with Volunteer Director to support ongoing recruitment and training of KJFS volunteers; Oversee KJFS social media and website with support of the JCA's Marketing manager; Staff the JCA's KJFS committee; With JCA Executive Director, complete strategic review of KJFS programming and engage in strategic planning process during 2023-2024; Work with JCA Facilities manager, diaper program staff, and volunteers to manage KJFS facility operations, including diaper shipments.
In collaboration with JCA programming staff and Volunteer Manager, develop and implement KJFS programs.
Provide supervision to Refugee Resettlement Manager, social work student intern, and part-time diaper program staff.
Other duties as assigned Hours:
This is a full-time, exempt position requiring the time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements.
Occasional evening and weekend work required.
Start Date:
July-August 2023Salary:
$68,000-$72,000.

A minimum of three years of experience in direct service provision and/or program management required.
Experience training, supporting, and growing programs through active project management.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to inspire and engage.
Successful track record in developing grant proposals, securing grant awards, and overseeing grant administration and reporting.
Commitment to excellence, transparency, and the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.
A positive attitude and passion for building a better world through supporting those most in need.
Experience working in a Jewish human services agency preferred; appreciation for and understanding of Jewish values and ethical commitments required.
Salary$65,000 - $75,000Agency InformationThe JCA's mission is to enhance and promote Jewish life and continuity locally, in Israel and throughout the world, and to generate the financial resources to develop, provide and support diverse programs, education and services in order to accomplish these goals.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
