Nursing Professional Development Specialist (RN)

Summary The Nursing Professional Development Specialist is an experienced RN, with 5 plus years of educator experience.
The NPDS, will act as a facilitator of learning, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, and a partner for practice transition.
Will use tools, theories, skills and knowledge of the Nursing Professional Development specialty.
Supports licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel in onboarding, orientation, ongoing competency, and role development inclusive of RNs, and other support staff.
Facilitates collaborative partnership and promotes evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities (in collaboration with unit based educators) include the coordination and oversight of:
Onboarding and Orientation Education/Competency Management Professional Role Development Collaborative Partnerships Research/Evidence-based Practice/Quality Improvement There is an emphasis on transitioning roles and practice, managing change, championing scientific inquiry, interprofessional collaboration and advocating for the profession as a leader and mentor.
Position Summary A primary goal of NPDS practice is to support the provision of quality health care and patient safety within the practice environment through the interwoven role elements of educator, leader, facilitator, change agent, consultant, and researcher.
Given the continuous evolution of health care policy, regulatory and accreditation standards, and changing roles in health care, the role of the NPDS must also evolve to meet requirements, demands, and expectations.
In collaboration with nursing leadership and staff, the NPDS designs, implements, and evaluates the nursing strategic education plan.
Through a high level of competence the NPDS must effectively and creatively address the learning needs of diverse groups in nursing within both practice and learning environments.
The NPDS works in partnership with colleagues across disciplines and professions in support of inter-professional education and evidence-based practice.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education:
Professional knowledge of the theories, principles, and practice of professional nursing and nursing professional development with expertise in educational curriculum design and technology, acquired through the completion of a Master's Degree preferably in Nursing and a minimum of five years as an educator in acute care clinical and learning environments.
Prior practice in diverse clinical settings is a plus.
If the Graduate degree is not in Nursing, the Baccalaureate Degree must be in nursing.
License/Certifications:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse as required by the State of Maine.
Certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred.
Experience:
See Education Comprehensive understanding of complex systems, organizationalstructure, health care quality, and regulatory and accreditation standards in order to support the strategic plans of MaineHealth, MMC, and Nursing.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to coach and mentor individuals and/or to lead, facilitate, and support team-based and interprofessional initiatives within and/or beyond the organization.
Demonstrated achievement relative to career development, education, leadership, and program/project management.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
