Office Coordinator -Nursing Float Pool

Summary Position Summary Works under the supervision of the Central Staffing Office Manager and Director or the Nursing Supervisor and is responsible for reviewing the staffing for the Float Pool and making additions or changes to that schedule frequently.
In addition to this, the Staffing Coordinator reviews the RN and CNA requests for each nursing unit as well as the Companion request list and allocates Float or floating staff to the areas of greatest need.
This position is 7:
30pm to 8am and will be two days per week.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education:
Work requires the ability to read and write well enough to proof and edit non-routine communications, schedules, reports, statistical forms, etc, for spelling, typographical errors and sentence structure at a level normally acquired through completion of high school, six months business school and clerical training.
License/Certifications:
N/A
Experience:
Work requires three to six months on-the-job experience in order to gain full knowledge of scheduling program and processes, office procedures and use of standard office equipment.
Personal computer and keyboarding skills and experience sufficient to use the computer for nurse scheduling and to learn software packages with minimal training and assistance.
Work requires ability to structure and create statistical and non-routine forms, reports, etc.
from rough drafts and/or direction of Nursing Staffing Manager, and to use the computer for nurse scheduling.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to be appropriately responsive and courteous in communication with staff, patients, visitors, agency contacts, and other internal and external interactions.
Work requires ability to pay close attention to detail for approximately 80-90 percent of work time when entering and reviewing schedules and summarizing staffing data.
Strong analytical ability required in order to gather or interpret data in situations when problems become complex.
Work may require independent judgement in the process of meeting staffing needs and problems.
