POSITION DESCRIPTION MV/N is seeking an adaptable and enthusiastic Research & Operations Associate to carry out organizational research and support organizational logistics.
This is a full-time, year-round position that reports to the Communications Director of Maine Votes/Voices Network.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO Research Lead research on candidates and elected officials at the state and local level and contribute to materials used for electoral campaign communications Conduct research using public records, legislative voting records, news clips, campaign finance reports and disclosures, and research databases for vetting Manage media monitoring and social listening efforts to support communications, political, and policy strategy Lead special projects for research, communications, and electoral campaigns Assist the Communications Director and other political team members as needed and perform other duties as assigned Operations Support core operations and logistics for MV/N, including but not limited to:
Serving as the point of contact for external research vendors and contractors, as well as the liaison between external vendors/contractors and MV/N staff Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of documentation surrounding:
Grants MV/N receives and disburses, contracts, PAC reports, and MOUs QUALIFICATIONS You will be will be an ideal candidate if:
You possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills, including an ability to distill large quantities of information to identify key details and themes and how they relate to gaps in existing knowledge Your effective time management skills enable you to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects independently and on schedule; you can easily and effectively adapt to changing priorities and timelines You have strong writing, grammar, and communication skills You are someone with keen political judgment and strong research skills with an equally strong eye for detail and precision in your work You are willing and excited to actively contribute to a more equitable and inclusive organization and network.
You have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
You have 1-3 years of research experience in a political/campaign/advocacy capacity and are committed to building a sustainable, more progressive Maine It would be nice, but not required if:
You are comfortable proposing the parameters of your projects, can work independently and with a team, communicate and flag any problems clearly and promptly, and proactively solve problems You are familiar with Nexis, campaign finance, and/or legislative databases and have a voracious appetite for current events You want to expand, grow, and improve your skills! No candidate will meet all of these criteria, and other experiences and skills beyond those listed could make for a stellar candidate.

COMPENSATION The salary range for this position is $60,000-$68,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications), plus a generous benefits package that includes medical/dental/vision insurance, paid vacation days and sick leave, 15 paid holidays, a monthly cell phone stipend, and retirement benefits beginning in the second year of employment.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
LOCATION The position is located in Maine with some travel to Portland (where the MV/N office is located).
MV/N is currently utilizing a hybrid work model with in-office and remote work.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
