UPP Global is a growing full-service parking management company with expertise in all verticals of parking.
We are active in 8 states along the Eastern Seaboard with over 300 locations! Currently we are seeking to hire an experienced maintenance worker to help with various projects and upkeep in our commercial parking division in Portland, ME.
Now is a great time to join UPP! Hiring for someone who is available to work a daytime Sunday - Thursday schedule, with an on-call rotation for nights Some specific areas of responsibility include basic groundskeeping, light carpentry, machine repair, and painting Some knowledge of/experience with electrical work is preferred, but not required.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, parkers, co-workers, and clients Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness in all job functions Walk, sweep, or hose down the parking lot areas, sidewalks, and walkways at least once each shift.
Maintain walkways as required to keep them free of snow, ice or other environmental hazards.
Use slip and fall markers where appropriate General landscaping duties as needed and depending on season Resolve customer complaints independently or with the aid of management Pick-up and delivery of winter supplies, sand, salt, fuel, power equipment, vehicles, etc.
Shovel, plow, or blow snow from the entrance or exit ramps and in areas designated by management, as applicable.
Remove snow from walkways on managed properties, applying salt/sand to prevent ground freeze-over.
Perform other duties as assigned Requirements:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Must be comfortable sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, driving and being active for most of the day.

Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions (Outerwear provided) Must possess current drivers' license that has been held for at least 3 consecutive years.
Must have good hand-eye coordination, as driving is required for a duration of some shifts Must be at least 18 years of age and able to undergo a criminal background check and motor vehicle report (MVR) check High school degree or GED equivalent preferred.
Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively both verbally and through written correspondence.
Ability and willingness to be flexible in working at multiple facility locations and, when needed, outside of normal business hours including weekends, nights, and some holidays.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally under challenging circumstances or winter weather conditions.
Ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when working with the parking customer, providing resolution as needed to customer issues.
Willingness to be around potentially hazardous materials, with safety equiptment.
