Description:
Spurwink Services Professional Development Center is seeking a motivated team member to work full time (40 hours) in our busy, team-oriented environment supporting projects the training and professional development fields. The candidate must be an organized, detail-oriented, and computer savvy administrative assistant with the ability to multi-task. Comfort with and support of colleagues in a professional work setting is a must.
Duties:
The candidate will assist with a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: answering the phone, maintaining calendars, entering data, typing, photocopying, collating, and electronic and postal mailings. Successful candidate must be computer literate, have a strong work ethic, excellent communications skills, as well as solid customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a busy environment with shifting priorities. Assist in conference registrations, recording minutes for PDC meetings, set-up for new staff orientation, scheduling duties with the Director of PDC, and special projects assigned by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and a willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of databases would be a plus. High school diploma (or GED) and at least 1 year of relevant work experience required: AA-degree or commensurate work experience preferred. Current Maine driver's license is required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
