Description:
The Billing Clerk will be responsible for preparing and submitting billings for outpatient services throughout the agency. In addition, they will assist with insurance benefit verification and authorizations for all programs. The billing clerk will also assist in other department projects as needed and assigned. They will need the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Duties:
The Billing Clerk will prepare charges for billing and submission by way of HCFA1500, UB92, HIPPA837, or required electronic format. They will also submit corrected billings as a result of payer denials or internal quality assurance audits. In addition, the billing clerk will assist with processing insurance benefit verification and authorizations. They will assist in A/R related matters for the year end audit, internal QA audits, or audits by third party funding agencies. The clerk will work with denials and aging clean up as needed. They will also assist programs with billing related questions and perform other various duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience preferred. The billing clerk must have familiarity with personal computer spreadsheets and database packages including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Accounts Receivable financial software. They must be willing to work effectively in a team oriented environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
