The goal of theSr. Disability Claims Manageris to efficiently and effectively recover overpayments on long term and short term disability claims through early intervention. Following established guidelines, theSr. Disability Claims Managertakes action to communicate and recover claim benefit overpayments. Prepares management reports and makes recommendations for process enhancements. TheSr. Disability Claims Managerresponsibilities are focused on overpayment collection activity which includes but is not limited to:
Significant written and verbal communication directly with claimants, customers, internal business partners, benefit representatives and claimant representation.
Facilitate the recovery of overpayments through technical comprehension of overpayment calculations and appropriate application of the legal, tax and contractual implications.
Understand and appropriately utilize the appropriate systems.
Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
Solid organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated in previous work experience.
Specific experience with collaborative negotiations.
Proven skills in positive and effective interactions with challenging customers
Experience in effectively meeting/exceeding individual and team goals
Demonstrated analytical and financial calculation skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment, business principles and practices to work
High level of flexibility to adapt to the needs of the organization
Strong PC skills (Windows based environment)
College degree preferred
3 to 5 years of Disability Claims Management experience preferred
Prior collection experience a plus.
Analyzes information and proposes solutions.
Resolves complex problems and assists other team members in resolving issues.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Late hours preferred
ClaimsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
