Summary of Position Description
The role of this position is to assist the Director of Acute Care Pharmacy Services with ensuring optimal pharmaceutical services are provided at Maine Medical Center. These services include, but are not limited to, procurement, storage, order verification, preparation, distribution, compounding, and monitoring of medication. The Pharmacy Supervisor is a member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team and provides supervision and leadership for Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacist Coordinators, Pharmacy technicians, and volunteers. The Pharmacy Supervisor also fulfills the role of a Clinical Pharmacist, as needed.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
1. A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or Masters in Hospital Pharmacy or Business Administration is preferred.
2. Preferred in depth background in pharmacy operations and personnel management.
3. Must possess good experience in the development of programs focused on achieving positive outcome in the training and education of department personnel.
4. An active Maine license as a registered pharmacist is required.
5. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in hospital pharmacy preferred.
6. Experience must be directly related to pharmacy service development and implementation.
7. A general or specialized pharmacy residency is preferred. Experience in a large academic medical center is preferred.
8. Good communication (both verbal and written) and effective presentation skills utilizing various types of media.
9. Demonstrates basic knowledge of drug dosages, significant interactions, allergies and is able to apply the principles to specific patient related situations.
10. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, policies and laws pertaining to the preparation, storage, procurement use and disposal of medications in the practice of Pharmacy.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
